[edit] History

The company was founded in Janesville, Wisconsin in 1955 by brothers W. C. (William Charles) Blain and N. B. (Bert) Blain. The stores are owned by separate companies in a franchise arrangement, while the distribution is handled by the separate entity, Blain Supply Company.[1] The Blain family still owns the business.

[edit] Motto

Blain's Farm and Fleet motto is:

  • "The hardest working people in America find value at Farm and Fleet."

A song containing this motto was recorded in Nashville in 1991 by the Eddie Rabbitt band.[2]
