Carlby is a small village/parish in the district of South Kesteven in Lincolnshire, England.
It is located four miles south of Bourne on the A6121 near the Lincolnshire/Rutland boundary, which is partly the River West Glen. The parish church is dedicated to St. Stephen[1]. The current building dates to 1734. [2].
The village also facilitates a playing field, composed of a modestly proportioned plain of grass and a children's recreational area. Historically, the playing field was used as a bear-baiting arena, but given the shortage of live subjects in the 19th-Century, this gave way to bee-keeping. Nowadays, the playing field is the site of children's play, adults' play, and the occasional missile test.
