As for non-Japanese photographers, they are listed if they have done a substantial amount of work in Japan (at a minimum, one book devoted to Japan) or if their work in Japan was of unusual historical or other significance. Non-Japanese photographers who have merely made short visits to Japan and had miscellaneous photographs published should not be specified below.
