I've removed the "Libertarianism" template—although it is eminently appropriate, it takes up a lot of room. If you're visiting this page, it seems your first priority is to find out what articles are in it, not to find out more about libertarianism per se. Good point; I've removed said disclaimer. This undoubtedly refers to Ayn Rand and her followers (see Libertarianism and Objectivism for more on that controversy), but they're libertarians by any commonly accepted definition of libertarianism, including Wikipedia's (see first sentence of libertarianism). --zenohockey 21:35, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tim McVeigh?!?!?[edit]

The person who added him to this list couldn't possibly have a reason other than to smear libertarianism. A throwaway comment is being spun into way more than the context suggests, making it seem like all of those other people on the list -- and by extension anyone who is a libertarian -- are "just like McVeigh". Either a note should be added clarifying that he is on the list only because he claimed to be one and NOT because of any philosophical similarities, or his name should be removed from it. --67.140.116.214 06:05, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There has been some discussion on his personal page about the removal of the claim that he is a libertarian. I thought this whole notion of him being a libertarian was odd because in south park he plays a character named Officer Barbrady who in the "chicken 'lover'" episode named Atlas Shrugged as something like the worst piece of garbage ever written and swore off reading entirely because of it (which seemed to me from the episode to be based on genuine editorial opinion and not laced with any sarcastic or otherwise tongue in cheque humour). I find it odd that he is suggested to be a libertarian and I think that a citation should be required to make this claim. If mention of him being a libertarian was removed from his wikipedia page for lack of citation he should also be removed from this list or someone should prove it.Plaidman (talk) 06:05, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
