If, as recent edits to some pages I watch and the list of subcats suggest, this category is meant only for federally protected areas, isn't a renaming to something like "Federally protected areas of the United States" in order? Daniel Case 18:17, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake. The problem was that individuals were putting the actual park/reserve/etc. into this category instead of the appropriate sub-category. I've revised the description to meet this criteria. Logically, "Name State Park" should go under "state parks of STATE" which should go under "Protected Areas of STATE". This is currently set up as "Parks in the United States"; however this is not as accurate because not all protected areas are parks. Sorry for the confusion! ClarkBHM 18:56, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
