Cedar Ridge High School is a public secondary school in Round Rock, USA. For the 2010-2011 school year, the school includes grades nine and ten. Grade eleven was added in 2011-2012 and grade twelve in 2012-2013. The school is the largest high school in the Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD), and in Central Texas with an enrollment of more than 3,000 students. Admission is primarily based on the locations of students' homes in the district. The building of the school was approved in the 2006 Bond, and was completed just prior to the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year.[2]

The school houses the Professional Studies, the S.T.E.M.(Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), the International Business and Economics, the Visual/ Performing Arts, and the Health Science Academies.[3]


On December 11, 2007 all the 2006 bond schools except the 5th high school were named. The Board of Trustees decided that the School Naming Committee should reconsider its naming of Memorial. The Committee agreed on Cedar Ridge High School at their February 21 meeting.[4]


The high school is home to many clubs and organizations such as: Anime, Asian Youth, ASTRO, Royalty, Cheerleading, Chess, Chinese, Culinary, Cultural Awareness, DECA, Diamond Divas, FCA, Film and Video, Forensics, French, German, GSA, HOSA, I am Norm, Interact, Lacrosse, Ladies of Purpose, Law Academy, National Art Society, National Spanish Honor Society, New Horizons, Opening Knight, PALS, Poetry, Raiders in Action, Raider Connect, Raiders of the Lost Art, Writing, Recycling, ROZVI, Spanish, Speech and Debate, and Student Council.[5]

Cedar Ridge High School's Theatre program (Theatre at the Ridge) competed in the Greater Austin Theatre High School Musical Awards in 2014 and received the awards of Best Production, Best Musical Direction, Best Choreography, and Best Actor in a Lead Role. [6]

Student Council has been awarded the Texas Association of Student Council's Sweepstakes Award for the years 2011-2013. The Sweepstakes award is the highest honor for a Council in the state of Texas. The council is composed of several committees including Energy & Environment, Pride & Patriotism, Drug Alcohol Safety Health Awareness, and Community Service


Cedar Ridge High School is the "greenest" school in RRISD and was built with a modern and environmentally-friendly design. Upon completion, the school was named LEED certified in 2011.[7]
