Greg DeLine is an American entrepreneur, philanthropist, and community leader based in Columbia, Missouri. His career has spanned for longer than four decades.[1] His businesses include Alpha Real Estate and Amega Mobile Homes.[2]

Early life and education[edit]

Greg DeLine moved to Columbia, Missouri, in 1974 to attend the University of Missouri, where he began his entrepreneurship.[3]

Career[edit]

DeLine has worked at Boone County National Bank (now Central Bank of Boone County).[4] His transition from banking to entrepreneurship led to the creation of DeLine Holdings, a conglomerate with businesses across more than 40 states. His ventures include contributions to the real estate sector, such as through Alpha Real Estate, and initiatives in housing with Amega Mobile Homes and Columbia Discount Homes​.[5]

Greg DeLine was recognized as one of Columbia's 2022 Thought Leaders in the category of entrepreneurship by Inside Columbia magazine. Over four decades, DeLine has worked to create more than a dozen successful companies under DeLine Holdings LLC.

Starting his career in banking, DeLine transitioned to entrepreneurship to create immediate income for his family. DeLine believes that a core component of success is the willingness to evolve and stay attuned to the market's dynamics, encapsulated in his philosophy: "If you’re not changing, you’re dying." Viewing himself as a steward of his resources, DeLine is passionate about mentoring and sharing his work. [6]

Entrepreneurship and business[edit]

His venture into entrepreneurship, initially managing mobile homes for his father-in-law, evolved into DeLine Holdings, contains businesses across the United States.[4]

DeLine invested in Clean Cut Barbershop. When traditional financing options did not materialize for the stylist, DeLine provided the startup capital in exchange for a stake in the business. This led to the opening of Clean Cut Barbershop on Green Meadows Road in 2015, followed by a second location in Jefferson City in 2017.[7]

Philanthropy[edit]

DeLine's philanthropy focuses on substance abuse and poverty. He has had leadership roles in Phoenix Programs and Love Columbia. DeLine's connection with Phoenix Health Programs dates back to the 1990s, while his involvement with Love INC began in 2010.[7][8] DeLine has collaborated with the University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR).[9]

DeLine supports charitable organizations, including United Community Builders, Burrell Behavioral Health, and GP Made, former MU football coach Gary Pinkel’s charity.[8] He has also established a partnership with the Heart of Missouri United Way.[10]

DeLine serves as the Board President of Horses Without Humans (HWH) Rescue Organization. He focuses on equine health. DeLine actively supports HWH's mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome unwanted horses.[11]

Community involvement[edit]

DeLine has been actively involved in the economic development of Columbia, Missouri.[3]

DeLine is driven by a desire to succeed in his ventures and to uplift and benefit the community.[3]

Personal life[edit]

Greg DeLine's personal life is intertwined with his faith, which he cites as a guiding force in all areas of his existence. He recommends the Bible as essential reading. DeLine's favorite quote, "The truth will set you free" (John 8:32), reflects his commitment to honesty and self-awareness, underlining the importance of recognizing and embracing one's capabilities and limitations​.[4]

DeLine believes in developing a relationship with and trust in God, which he considers a central aspect of his mentorship philosophy.
