The Indiana Economic Development Association, Inc. is a statewide non-profit organization in Indiana that was formed in 1968 and later incorporated in 1982:[1]. The IEDA is the professional association for economic developers in the State of Indiana with over 400 members.

The IEDA's mission is to promote and support economic development in Indiana by providing education, networking, and lobbying opportunities for its members and the profession as a whole.

The IEDA is governed by a 14-member volunteer board of directors and managed by a small executive staff[2].

Quarterly conferences are hosted by the IEDA where attendees hear from industry experts on topics pertinent to economic development and market trends[3]. The organization also conducts multiple workshops and training sessions and publishes a podcast series focused on economic development trends in Indiana[4].

The IEDA also presents two main awards at its annual conference[5]

  1. The Orr-O'Bannon Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to recipients that have created a material positive impact on Indiana's economic development community.
  2. The IEDA Excellence in Leadership award is presented to members based on the individual's leadership role in the IEDA organization.
