History[edit]

Killgurls was founded in 2024 when Vanna Rose, April Ennui, and Stella Bertelli came together with a shared passion for punk music and a desire to create music that speaks to the experiences of young women in contemporary society. Drawing inspiration from their personal experiences, as well as the punk ethos of rebellion and authenticity, the trio quickly began writing and performing original songs.

The band's debut single, "Cradle," released in 2024, garnered attention for its catchy hooks and empowering lyrics, establishing Killgurls as a force to be reckoned with in the Sacramento punk scene. Their music addresses themes such as feminism, self-expression, and societal expectations, resonating with audiences who relate to their message of empowerment and defiance.

Musical Influence[edit]

Killgurls' music is characterized by its fast-paced rhythms, gritty guitar riffs, and powerful vocals. Influenced by punk icons such as Bikini Kill, The Distillers, and Sleater-Kinney, the band infuses their sound with a modern edge while staying true to the raw energy of the genre. Their lyrics are often introspective and confrontational, exploring themes of identity, rebellion, and the struggles of everyday life.
