Louise Fleming (b.) is a Black ndependent filmmaker who specializes in experimental and non-fiction short works.

Early Life & Education[edit]

Graduate American U/NYU School of the Arts/Film.

Career[edit]

Fleming's short film Just Briefly was shown at the first ever Black women’s film festival: the Sojourner Truth Festival of the Arts in 1976, co-organized by Black feminist Faith Ringgold, Margo Jefferson, Patricia Jones, Michele Wallace, and Monica J. Freeman. Fleming previously served as co-rresident/curator of Women's Screening Series CineWomen NY at Two Boots Pioneer Movie Theater and Anthology Film Archives.
