Maheshsana Rajkumar alias Rajkumar Monty Singh is an Indian Manipuri author, writer, independent scholar and researcher who write articles on Manipur-Myanmar historical perspectives since the release of book The Political Monument: Footfalls of Manipuri History, 2021. He completed his schooling from The APS Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi-1992-93, graduated in Political Science Major from St. Xavier’s College, University of Mumbai 1995-96, and pursued MBA from University of Technology Sydney, Australia 2004. He lived and worked in U.K. in WHMV from 2006-08. He worked in Hydro and Renewable Energy Space and had been successful in the market entry particularly into Nepal (2009-12) and Myanmar (2013-16). He is a state level basketball player. He is currently working as a columnist, independent scholar and researcher.

Life and work[edit] Maheshsana Rajkumar jointly wrote the book The Political Monument: Footfalls of Manipuri History with L. Memo Singh released in April 2021. The book is catalogued at the Library of Congress, on the first floor of Thomas Jefferson Building, Asian Reading Room, Washington DC, United States.

He and L. Memo Singh jointly wrote the Introduction of the book The Manipuri (Metei Kathe) Settlements in Myanmar, 2023. Maheshsana is a columnist and wrote several historical articles in Manipuri English newspapers and in online journals. His articles are featured regularly in Manipuri magazine namely Imphal Review of Arts and Politics.

Maheshsana Rajkumar’s article titled Paradise Lost is based on Kabaw Valley of Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), is a joint write up with Saikh Md. Sabah Al-Ahmed of Guwahati, Assam and its featured in The Assam Tribune Sunday. The book review of The Political Monument: Footfalls of Manipuri History article featured in The Sentinel Assam written by Saikh Md. Sabah Al-Ahmed. His articles are extensively based on the ancient historical relations of the kingdoms of Manipur and Burma. Manipur was an ancient land route in Southeast Asia connecting Burma with mainland India. His article featured the classification of Meitei people of Manipur in the group of Hill tribes from 1891-1931 censuses of British India. He is a strong advocate on the enlistment of Meitei/Meetei with the tag of Schedule Tribe (ST) under the 342 (1) of the Constitution of India.

Maheshsana writes articles relentlessly on Tai/Shan. He established the ethnicity of Meitei belonging to Tai/Shan ethnic called Tai Kassay, and are one of the 83 Tai sub-tribes in the world based on research findings. The homogenized Meitei people of Manipur came under the fold of Tainization with the other ethnicities living in ancient Manipur. He is one of the Group Admin members of Tai World Wide Group (TWW), a Tai cultural group on Facebook.

He presented a Seminar Paper on the topic Ancient Manipur and Brahmanism at the Two-day National Seminar on the Dialogue between Hinduism and Buddhism in the Northeast India, held at Manipur University on 19th–20th September 2022.

He participated as a Resource Person on the topic Queen from Manipur in Myanmar/Burma in the Round Table Discussion on Queens from Manipur Kingdom: Tracing the matrimonial connections in erstwhile kingdoms of Asia jointly organized by: Intellectual Forum of North East – Manipur; and Manipur University held on 5 March, 2023 at Manipur University.

Maheshsana Rajkumar lives in Imphal, India with his wife Sugam K C and his two children. He is the youngest son of Rajkumar Dorendra Singh, the former four times Chief Minister of Manipur, India.
