Muhammad Aurangzeb Ramday is an eminent banker of Pakistan and nephew/son-in-law of honourable Justice Retd. Khalil Ur Rehman Ramday. After obtaining both his undergraduate and postgraduate (MBA) degrees from the Wharton school of the University of Pennsylvania, he started his career in New York City before shifting to Amsterdam, and in turn, Singapore.
Ramday has held key positions at top banks including ABN Amro, and RBS, later becoming CEO of JP Morgan's Global Corporate in Asia, and President and CEO of Habib Bank Limited. He was elected as Director Pakistan Business Council and Chairman Pakistan Banks' Association. As the first Pakistani to be inducted into the exclusive Global CEO Council, his illustrious career led to his candidature for leading Pakistan's stagnating economy in March, 2024. It is said by close aides to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that Ramday will be taking up this role, despite having declined offers to Govern the State Bank of Pakistan in previous years.
