Padise Equestrian Centre (PEC) is an equestrian centre located in Lääne-Harju Parish in Estonia.
Padise Equestrian Centre is one of the major venues for organising Endurance competitions in Estonia as well as in Northern Europe.[1]
History[edit]
Padise Equestrian Centre was founded by an Estonian entrepreneur and endurance athlete Jelena Sbitneva in 2016.
Since 2017, Padise Equestrian Centre has organised multiple national and international endurance competitions in cooperation with the Estonian Equestrian Federation and the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI).
In 2023, Padise Equestrian Centre hosted the FEI Endurance World Championship for Young Horses,[2] which became the first world equestrian championship allocated to the Baltic countries and Northern Europe.
Facilities[edit]
Padise Equestrian Centre is located near the shore of the Baltic Sea on a private large territory.
It is the only venue in Europe with permanent infrastructure for Endurance competitions, such as vet gate, stables, cooling area, resting area with tents, and lodges for officials.
Events[edit]
Endurance competitions titled Padise Endurance Festival[3] are organised every year during summer season.
From 2017 to 2023, 31 endurance events and 83 international rides were held, involving riders from many countries, including the UAE.[4]
The Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the world champion in Endurance riding, participated twice in competitions held at Padise Equestrian Centre in 2018 and 2022.[5]
The FEI Endurance World Championship for Young Horses 2023[6] was held at Padise Equestrian Centre on 10-14 August 2023, with 42 participating riders from 13 countries.[7]
