Pan-American Lacrosse Association (PALA) is the sport governing body of men's and women's lacrosse in North and South America . It was founded in 2018 with a board of members from the United States, Haudenosaunee, Argentina, Peru, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.[1] There are currently 22 member nations, including 15 from North America and 7 from South America. [2] PALA is 1 of 4 continental federations in World Lacrosse, along with the European Lacrosse Federation, Asia Pacific Lacrosse Union, and the African Association of Lacrosse.[3]

Overview[edit]

PALA has sponsored 4 events in both field and sixes lacrosse. These include the 2019 PALA Women's Lacrosse World Qualifiers and the 2022 PALA Men's Lacrosse World Qualifiers, these tournaments served as qualifiers for the 2022 and 2023 World Lacrosse Championship, respectively. They have also held the 2021 and 2023 PALA Sixes Cup.[2]
