Patient Safety in Surgery was established in 2007 by the founding editors Philip F. Stahel, MD (East Carolina University, USA) and Pierre-Alain Clavien, MD (University of Zurich, Switzerland). Patient Safety in Surgery publishes peer-reviewed articles on any aspect pertinent to the provision of quality and safety to patients in all surgical subspecialties and perioperative disciplines. The journal provides a scientific platform for healthcare professionals and patient safety advocates to report, discuss, debate, and critically review new innovative approaches towards preventing complications and adverse outcomes of patients undergoing surgical procedures around the globe.
