Eric Stenkilsson, in Swedish Erik Stenkilsson, was King of Sweden 1066–67. After the death of King Stenkil, he made war on Erik (VI) the Pagan (King of Sweden 1066–67) for the Swedish throne. Both died in the war. The two rivalling Eriks are only known by their first name and from one source (Adam of Bremen). The family connection with Stenkil and the opponent's pagan belief are thus conjectural.

Referring to this king as Erik VII is a later invention. The Swedish kings Erik XIV (1560–68) and Charles IX (1604–11) took their numbers after studying a highly fictitious History of Sweden. This are also versions with this king as Erik III or VIII.[1]
