1845 watercolour the summit of Maungakiekie / One Tree Hill, with its single pōhutukawa or tōtara tree, that gave the maunga its Pākehā name, looking south east. Part of Maungarei / Mount Wellington can be seen on the left, with the Tāmaki River beyond it, and the Coromandel Range in the distance. Harakeke and kānuka populate the foreground. |
