"Greetings to the New Brunette" is a song by Billy Bragg from the 1986 album Talking with the Taxman About Poetry.[1] It was the second single from the album, following "Levi Stubbs' Tears", and reached No. 58 on the UK Singles Chart in October 1986.[2]

The song features Johnny Marr on electric guitar,[3] and vocals by Kirsty MacColl.[4] The song was selected by actor David Tennant as one of his Desert Island Discs in 2010.[5]

The lyrics "Whoops, there goes another year / Whoops, there goes another pint of beer" echo the "Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant... Oops, there goes a billion kilowatt dam" lyrics from the 1959 Frank Sinatra song "High Hopes" composed by Sammy Cahn and James Van Heusen.[citation needed]
