Horita Station (堀田駅, Horita-eki) is a train station on the Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line located in Mizuho-ku, Nagoya, Japan. It is located 61.1 kilometers from the junction of the Nagoya Main Line at Toyohashi.
History
Horita Station was opened on April 15, 1928 as a station on the Aichi Electric Railway. On April 1, 1935, the Aichi Electric Railway merged with the Nagoya Railway (the forerunner of present-day Meitetsu). Ticket vending machines were installed at this station on August 16, 1965, the first in Japan. The tracks were elevated from 1967-1968.
