I Heart Davao is a 2017 Philippine Davaoeño-based romantic-comedy drama television series that premiered on GMA Network on June 26, 2017. Starring Carla Abellana, Tom Rodriguez and Benjamin Alves, it replaced Meant to Be on GMA Telebabad primetime block, and aired worldwide via GMA Pinoy TV.[3] The series ended its 8-week run on August 18, 2017 with a total of 40 episodes. It was replaced by My Korean Jagiya in its timeslot.

The full episodes of the series is available online exclusively via HOOQ at 1080p high-definition video as video on demand.[4]

Premise

It is dubbed as the "Winning Kiligserye of Primetime" as it garnered the highest ratings, beating all of its rival. It is excellent in cinematography and storywise as it received critically acclaimed reviews. It only aired for 2 months because it aims to show the excellent beauty of Davao amidst the war as love prevails.

Plot

The series is a heart-wrenching and romantic story in Davao about a man named Ponce, who was deeply heart-broken after the untimely and tragic death of her kind-hearted fiancée, Aileen Ayuban. After her death, Aileen's family blames and threats Ponce that keeps his burden heavier. But things will change when she met the Manileña named Hope, who in fact will buy the plantation and farm of Ponce's conglomerate as they suffer bankruptcy and shortage of goods. Didn't he knew, Hope will save him from drowning as he will again taste the new romance brought to him by Aileen's heart transferee, Hope; that will make every memories from Aileen return and refresh to all of them and suddenly will affect everyone's heartbeats. Their relationship will undergo challenges brought by feuding families, love rivalries, memories of a dead girl, and destiny manipulation that will strengthen their deep affection for one another as they discover the truths of love and what it feels like to be at home in hearts.

Reception

According to AGB Nielsen Philippines' Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement, the pilot episode of I Heart Davao received a 7.4% rating.[5] While the finale episode earned a 6.5% rating.[6] The show got its highest rating on July 28, 2017 with a 8.3% rating.[7]
