The Institute of Engineering & Technology, Bareilly (IET ) is a state government-funded engineering college in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is located within the campus of M.J.P. Rohilkhand University. It is one of the prestigious engineering institution located in bareilly of uttar pradesh having various branches.Initially(from 1995-2007) the admissions were through M.J.P Rohilkhand University's own Engineering Entrance Exam conducted at All India level. Later in 2008 it changed to All India level AIEEE examination. At present(from 2009 and onwards) admissions are given through UPTU-SEE exam.

Infrastructure and facilities
All the departments are having very well qualified teaching faculties drawn from research and development organizations, industries, government and educational institutes. The curriculum has accordingly been designed in consultation with reputed academicians of BHU Varanasi and IIT, Roorkee.
All the departments are also well equipped with modern labs, state-of–art teaching materials including multimedia projectors/ OHP and other visual teaching aids.
The focus of learning in all departments has been application of engineering & technology to industrial problems. Students are encouraged to do innovative type of projects with emphasis being placed on team project work. They are well trained to deliver lectures in seminars, preparation of seminar reports & project reports. Departments conduct technical quiz, technical seminar, group discussions and guest lectures on related burning issues. Departments believe in "Sound Mind in Sound Body" conducting annual sports, yoga & meditation training programs. All these activities provide a training ground to a greater depth of understanding of concepts, broader knowledge base, improved communication and interpersonal skills, enhanced leadership skills and increased creativity of the students.

Engineering students pass-out from I.E.T. M.J.P. Rohilkhand University are working with Government of India(IES/IAS/IPS etc.), State governments of India(UP-CSES,UP-PCS etc.),Organisations like ISRO, DRDO,BARC,Indian Railways, and Public Sector Undertaking like NTPC,EIL, BHEL, ONGC, Delhi Metro, GAIL, HAL, SAIL, MTNL, HPCL, DVC, AAI, BEL, National Aluminium Company, PowerGrid Corporation of India, IFFCO, IOCL, Coal India KRIBHCO,UPPCL,SJVNL, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Public sector banks in India and reputed MNCs companies like Intel, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon, NEC, RIL,FIS Global, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL, IBM, MphasiS, Genpact, Oracle corporation, HP, Deloitte, SAP Labs, Cadence, ST Microelectronics, Nokia, SIEMENS, ALSTOM,TOSHIBA,ABB,AREVA, Tata Motors,Deutsche Bank, ICICI Bank, RBS and many more. A number of students are pursuing their post graduate and doctoral degrees from Indian Institutes of Technology. They are across as well as outside the country. Although due to location the campus recruitment is low, still alumni have made their place into by giving commendable competition to students from all over the country in off-campus drives. Most of them qualified GATE, GRE, PSUs and pursuing M.Tech from reputed institutes such as IITs, BHU Varansi, AMU Aligarh, etc. and also other reputed universities abroad.
