The Military Policeman and the Dismembered Beauty Crime drama When Shigesato Itoi (Creator of the Mother franchise) was a young boy, he accidentally viewed this film which, according to Itoi, featured a graphic rape scene near a river (which in turn was a murder scene) that traumatized Itoi so much that his parents began to worry about his wellbeing. Years later, Itoi integrated the experience into Giygas' dialogue for the final battle of the Super Nintendo video game, EarthBound.
