Carlton Tower Hotel or Jumeirah Carlton Tower is a luxury 5-star hotel in London, England. Owned and managed by the Emirati firm Jumeirah who have most of their hotels in Dubai, it is located on Cadogan Place next to Sloane Street and is extremely close to Harrods, Harvey Nichols and the centre of Knightsbridge. Prior to Jumeirah, the hotel was managed by Hyatt as the Park Hyatt Carlton Tower. The hotel was voted ‘Best UK Business Hotel’ at the Conde Nast Reader’s Travel Awards in 2008 as well as Conde Nast Middle East Readers’ Choice Awards 2013 - Best International Business Hotel amongst various TripAdvisor and World Travel Awards.[1] The hotel is home to three restaurants and bars which include The Rib Room Bar & Restaurant, known for its roast rib of beef with Yorkshire pudding and the Dover sole. Other dining outlets at Jumeirah Carlton Tower include Chinoiserie, an all-day dining outlet located just off the lobby of the hotel.

The Peak Health Club & Spa is also located at Jumeirah Carlton Tower and is known as one of London's most exclusive health clubs. Facilities include an indoor stainless steel swimming pool; indoor golf simulator; Jacuzzi, separate male and female steam rooms and saunas; two fitness studios and a state-of-the-art range of gym equipment.

History

When the Jumeirah Carlton Tower opened in 1961, it was the tallest building in London, and attracted the attention of high-profile international travellers keen to experience modern luxury. In 2011, to celebrate its 50th year in business, the hotel published an informative book, following the venue’s history. ‘All That Life Can Afford’ documents the Jumeirah Carlton’s colourful past, combining images and anecdotes from an era of exciting travel and accommodation developments.[2]
