The Lark Buttonquail or Quail-plover (Ortyxelos meiffrenii) is a species of bird in the Turnicidae family. It is monotypic within the genus Ortyxelos.[citation needed] It is found in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, and Uganda.
