Maduna ([Maduuna] Error: {{Lang-xx}}: text has italic markup (help)) is an ancient town in the northern Sanaag province of Somalia.

History

It is situated 90 km southward of Erigavo.

The city is said to date from the Golden Age of the medieval Adal Sultanate, which was in the 15th and 16th centuries.

Maduna features many old structures. Among these are several hundred drystone buildings and a large rectangular mosque whose walls were originally rendered with lime plaster.
