Content Agreement with ESPN
On January 14th, 2008, ESPN.com, the leading online sports destination, announced it has entered a content agreement with Major League Gaming (MLG).

ESPN will be on site at each of the 2008 MLG Pro Circuit Competitions, reporting news from its own coverage booth for various ESPN programs and platforms, including ESPN360.com, ESPN’s signature broadband sports network.

Games in the MLG Pro Circuit
The games played in the 2007 season were Halo 2, Gears of War, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas, and Shadowrun.

Rainbow Six: Vegas was added in April 2007, and was first played at Charlotte, the 2007 season opener.

Gears Of War was added shortly after in June 2007 and was first played at the Meadowlands, the second event of the 2007 season.

At the Dallas Pro Circuit in July 2007, it was announced that Shadowrun will be included in the Pro Circuit. It was played in Dallas for promotional purposes by members of Final Boss and other pro teams. Shadowrun was first played officially at Chicago, the next event.

In the past, MLG has held competitions for various other games which have since been dropped because of low turnout. The Tekken 5 tournament was discontinued in October 2005, and tournaments were held for Gran Turismo 3 and Soul Calibur in the 2004 season, but these were also dropped.

For 2008 season, MLG has announced that "Halo 3", "Gears of War", and "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2" will be the games picked for the live events. "Call of Duty 4" was also picked to be in 2008 season but because of the games lack of LAN (System Link) play, it will be the first online MLG pro-circuit game. It was announced that there will still be Cod4 pros, such as v The Fridge v, Tha Cheeze Man, CL iZ Legendary, and prizes just like the other games picked in the circuit.
