Martín Miguel de Güemes International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional de Salta "Martín Miguel de Güemes") (IATA: SLA, ICAO: SASA) is located 6 km (3.7 mi) southwest of the center of Salta, a city in the Salta Province of Argentina. The airport covers an area of 208 hectares (513 acres) and is operated by Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 S.A.[1][2]
Also known as El Aybal Airport, it is the main hub of the Andes, served by Aerolíneas Argentinas, LAN Argentina and Andes Líneas Aéreas. It has a 2300 m² passenger terminal, 207,000 m² of runways, 62,500 m² of taxiways and parking spaces for 525 cars. In 2007 it handled 397,578 passengers, making it the most used airport in Northern Argentina. The new terminal was built in 2000, by Aeropuertos Argentina 2000.
