Mercurialis /mərˌkjʊəriˈælɨs/ is a genus of plants in the family Euphorbiaceae, the spurges, known commonly as the mercuries. These are slender herbs (forbs), rhizomatious perennials and woody perennials. There are eight to ten European species (depending on classification) and one Asian species.
