Some twenty years after a nuclear war, just a few thousand people survive the harsh conditions by living in the metro stations of Moscow. Life is far from easy with the radiation, mutants and physical abnormalities. It's in this surrounding that Artyom tries to save his station (VDNKh). To do this, he needs to find the city of "POLIS" (Borovitskaya station). During his journey he meets many people and faces difficulties that make him mature and question the true nature of his quest. Why is he the Chosen one? Why must others die so he may live? Is there such thing as fate?
