Mining

A miner is a person whose work or business is to extract ore or minerals from the earth. Mining is one of the most dangerous trades in the world. In some countries miners lack social guarantees and in case of injury may be left to cope without assistance.

On June 21, 1935, the Convention No. 45 was adopted by the International Labour Organization, where the Article II establishes prohibition of women work in underground mines: "No female, whatever her age, shall be employed on underground work in any mine."[1]

This text has been ratified by 70 countries, 28 of which have denounced.[2]
