The Minister of Advanced Education and Literacy is a cabinet minister in the province of Manitoba, Canada. The department's primary responsibility is oversight of Manitoba's post-secondary institutions.

The ministry is the successor the Ministry of Advanced Education and Training, which was established in 2001. Previously, oversight of post-secondary institutions fell upon the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Training. The department's current name was chosen in 2006. Ministerial responsibility for training was transferred to the Ministry of Competitiveness, Training and Trade.

There was also a Ministry of Colleges and Universities for a brief period during the 1970s.

In October 2013, the responsibilities of the Minister of Advanced Education and Literacy were redistributed between the Minister of Education and Advanced Learning and the Minister of Multiculturalism and Literacy.[1]
