Quique Dacosta
Quique Dacosta is a spanish chef. He began his professional career as a chef in 1986. In 1988, he began working at what is today his restaurant (now Quique Dacosta Restaurante).
The chef, who has been recently awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts and has been also appointed Best Spanish Restaurateur by the Royal Gastronomic Academy, has turned the Quique Dacosta Restaurant into an internationally renowned mecca for haute cuisine.
The ambiance that embraces and seduces Quique Dacosta marks the future of many of the creations made year after year in Denia. The Mediterranean Sea and the Montgó Natural Park were essential locations in his cuisine, thanks to the bountiful wealth of their seabeds and particular geographic location.

This offer goes far beyond his usual aesthetic, technical and technological quest based on local produce, which continues to underpin his entire culinary craft. He is the director and culinary creator of the Hotel Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid. One of the most iconic hotels in Spain aims to become a world renowned gastronomic destination as well. Deessa, his most creativity restaurant in the hotel, has received its firs Michelin star just serven months after its opening.
He has created ArrosQD, an innovative concept in the heart of London with its sights set on international expansion. He is owner of the restaurants El Poblet (2*), Llisa negra, Vuelve Carolina and Mercatbar in Valencia.
In his work to spread knowledge the chef, ambassador for Acción contra el Hambre (Action Against Hunger) and Doctor Honoris Causa in Fine Arts published “De Tapas con Quique Dacosta (Tapas with Quique Dacosta)," a book with 80 recipes taken from the kitchens at four of his restaurants, each one representing twenty dishes or tapas.
Over the last two years, Quique Dacosta Restaurant located in Dénia has been appointed Best Restaurant in Europe by the prestigious Opinionated About Dining List. In addition, over the last five years, the restaurant has consistently ranked among the ten best restaurants in the continent and among the best restaurants in the world according to the most influential international lists.
