A collection of Revoltech figures.

Revoltech (リボルテック?) is an action figure line from the Japanese company Kaiyodo. The main selling point of the line is the 'Revolver' joint, which all of the figures utilize. This gives the figures a high degree of articulation, allowing for many dynamic and varied poses.

The subject matter for the Revoltech line can be broadly split into 3 categories—Real Robot, Super Robot and Humanoid, with the Real Robot line being the best served at present. Thus far, only mecha/characters from anime, video games and manga have been covered.

[edit] Yamaguchi Series

Since Revoltech began in mid-2006 with the release of the first three figures, there have been two new figures released each month in the numbered mainline series, also known as the "Yamaguchi Series" (named after the figures' sculptor, Katsuhisa Yamaguchi). As of early November 2008, the Yamaguchi series is believed to end with figures 064 and 065. The Revoltech license will resume in June 2009 with "Revoltech 3.0 REBOOT", with Yamaguchi's continued involvement[1]. The following is a list of the figures from the Yamaguchi Series:

(*) The summer vacation version includes a new t-shirt, 4 different faces from the original, 4 different sets of hands (including one holding a cicada), a bug net, bug bag, purse, summer hat, and uneaten ice cream. The DX (deluxe) moniker on this set is most likely to justify the higher price point of 2,600 yen (vs 1,995 yen for the previous Yotsuba figure) due to all of the extra accessories included.

The current Revoltech 3.0 'REBOOT' series seems to unite the many Revoltech sub-brands under a single product line. It is currently unknown if the individual series will retain their individual numberings. The Reboot is scheduled for a retail launch in June 2009. The series is expected to contain both robot and character figures. A list of announced figures follows:

Kaiyodo, along with Yasuhiro Nightow's Toy Tribe, has also developed Assemble Borg, a Revoltech original line[3]. This line was presented at the First Revoltech Expo on December 1, 2007 at the Tokyo Anime Center in Japan. It's designed for the consumer to be able to use its parts to build their own Revoltech cyborgs. This line requires some skill to create unique complex figures, as shown on the product page of the Assemble Borg official site. Note that the manufacturer freely provides there a few recipes. So far the series includes:
