Sabae (鯖江市 Sabae-shi) is a city located in Fukui, Japan.
As of June 1, 2011, the city has an estimated population of 68,703 with 22,229 households and the density of 810.65 persons per km². The total area is 84.75 km².
The city was founded on January 15, 1955.

Sabae is one of the largest manufacturing centers of eyeglass frames in Japan.

In 1995, the city was host to the World Gymnastics Championships (Sun Dome Fukui).

Nishiyama koen (West Mountain Park) is particularly beautiful in springtime, when hundreds of azaleas trees bloom on the slopes. The effect turns the park into a glorious island of pink blossoms in an otherwise drab industrial city.
