Salvo Andò (born 13 February 1945) is an Italian academic and socialist politician, who served as defense minister of Italy from 1992 to 1993.

Early life and education

Andò was born on 13 February 1945.[1] In 1968, he graduated from the University of Catania with a law degree.[1]

Career

Andò has served as a professor of law at different universities since the 1970s.[1] He was a member of the Italian parliament between 1979 and 1984 and of the Italian Socialist Party from 1981 to 1994.[1] He was appointed minister of defense on 28 June 1992 to the cabinet led by prime minister Gıuliano Amato.[2] Andò was in office until 28 April 1993.[3]
