The Italian Serie A is the name of the highest level handball league of Italy.

Competition Format

The season has 26 game days (or weeks) and is played as a Round-robin tournament. At the end of the regular season, the top-four team will play semifinals and final to be the new Italian champion. At the end of the season, the bottom four finishers are automatically relegated to the second level of the Italian league system, the Serie A2.
