List of endorsements unnecessary?[edit]

Is the list of endorsements necessary? All the endorsements listed are from sitting or former politicians from the same party as the candidate. It's standard for politicians to support the endorsed candidate from their own party. Including "endorsements" seems to be importing an American idea into an Australian election. I agree. Apart from Turnbull's support for O'Connell which could be noted, the rest are completely obvious such as MPs endorsing their own party's candidate, or the CFMEU endorsing Labor. There isn't a single reference in the list at all, which surely is required to demonstrate accuracy and notability. Listing such "endorsements" does not and did not inform or affect the outcome or the preselection of the by-election, and I'm not saying this has happened here, but especially when the list is completely unreferenced like this (and even if it wasn't) it is very easy to selectively skew the listing of endorsements by omission. I have boldly deleted the endorsement box as unreferenced. Those that they are so obvious as to go without saying, can remain unsaid. Turnbull is already noted & referenced in the text. I am not aware of any reliable source that lists endorsements in this way. --Find bruce (talk) 03:36, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
