This page should not be speedily deleted because... or deleted at all, because The building has significant history in troy. the building used to employ thousands of people and all though it isn't currently being used, the use of the property is a major question for the city. Having this information is a good starting point for people interested in the building for its history, position now, and future use. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sbatts672 (talkcontribs) 08:57, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

3100 W. Big Beaver RoadKmart headquartersWP:COMMONNAME, Most people refer this as "Kmart HQ" or a variation of that because it's well-known as Kmart's old headquarters. It is a well-known structure in Troy. • Former Kmart headquarters makes the most sense per accuracy and recognizability. Randy Kryn (talk) 08:25, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Kmart former headquarters is slightly better grammatically and for searching, but Former Kmart headquarters is also used and is better than the proposal, which is better than the street address of basically a vacant lot. Station1 (talk) 21:22, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would like Former Kmart headquarters better than Kmart former headquarters. GabrielPenn4223 (talk) 21:55, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the word "former" applies to its relationship to Kmart as well as to its having been used as the company's headquarters. It's no longer a Kmart anything, so it's a former Kmart thing, not a Kmart former thing. If it was a person who formerly worked for the company, we would call that person a former Kmart employee, not a Kmart former employee. — BarrelProof (talk) 22:37, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's the [former headquarters] of the current [Kmart], not the current [headquarters] of the [Former Kmart]. But I fully recognize people also use the other formulation, and I don't think it matters much. Station1 (talk) 23:32, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Now I'm getting officially confused, but I think it's a place with [former] status as the [Kmart headquarters], and I'll stick with the employee example (assuming the person retired or became unemployed rather than died). But I'll admit I'm stretching the boundaries of my grammatical skills. — BarrelProof (talk) 23:52, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Me too. (Or is it "Me, too"?) I see your point and I'm fine with either one. I suppose the clearest would be "Former headquarters of Kmart" or "Kmart's former headquarters" but I'm not even going to mention those. Station1 (talk) 00:35, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am also creating a page on 3333 Beverly Road (Kmart's 2nd headquarters) but would it probably make sense to move that to Kmart headquarters instead? or Transformco headquarters considering Sears is also there? GabrielPenn4223 (talk) 22:41, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Searching up Kmart former employee on Google, extremely few sources use "Kmart former employee" and most use "Former Kmart employee" or a variation of that. GabrielPenn4223 (talk) 22:44, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I tried the Google Ngram viewer with the names of several large companies. It found "Former XYZ employee" and did not find "XYZ former employee" for all of them. — BarrelProof (talk) 23:52, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
