Technological obsolescence Section[edit]

The Technological obsolescence section looks more as a personal comment to me, even if 4dtv signals are not as popular as other systems there is some movement even this year (Hits Quantum a signal provider owned by comcast is moving its signals to c-band digicipher so owners of 4dtv equipment can be offered new programing packages) also the same technology is used by commercial provider Star Choice in canada and that provider is endorsed over Bell Express VU by the industry in Canada because of its more secure method of encryption. The section has been edited, thanks to the user who did it, now its far more neutral, as it is true that DVB is prevalent over other MPEG systems.

The end of 4DTV and C-band[edit]

I just heard that Motorola will no longer supporting C-Band. The National Broadcasting Service will no longer be selling 4DTV C-band subscriptions. So, I'm afraid the C-Band market is coming to an end. However, this is not confirmed.--72.148.3.214 (talk) 06:13, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have heard NBS will no longer have programming for consumers at the end of 2010 (commercial will still exist). C bands can exist now but mostly for FTA only... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.218.81.2 (talk) 00:28, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
