Date of birth[edit]

Do we know what his actual year of birth was? The references used in the article give different dates (one 1843, another 1845) and the article itself seems to have settled on 1845, but is this certain? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.93.251.210 (talk) 20:26, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, first of all please sign your messages by including ~~~~ after your message. I corrected it for you just now, but regarding birth years what are the two sources? If both seem reliable, we can note both of them. On his gravestone we see that he definitely died in 1880. Hope that helps! Thanks. The references are number 3 and 4 in the current version of the article. Both seem reliable, I would say, but number 3 has his year of birth as 1843 and number 4 as 1845. 209.93.251.210 (talk) 21:47, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
