Was part of this episode actually shown live? In all of the advertisements for "The Debate", it said it was a first for The West Wing. If so, can someone please provide a source for this? WestWingFan 14:55, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This was not shown live. Also, this wasn't the second time there was a hostage situation. In the fourth season episode, "The Red Mass" they also had a hostage situation where a child was in need of medication.
