Graphical desktop[edit]

I saw these machines on an Acorn stand at the NEC, I believe at Easter 1984. One of them had a colour display with a graphical desktop which makes it noteworthy as one of the first systems exhibited- if not shipped- targetting a GUI at the mass market. I'd add that Apple were also demonstrating early Macs at the same show, but they didn't pack the same punch because of the smaller B&W screen. Can anybody provide anything definitive to get this into the article? MarkMLl (talk) 09:34, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I added an inline link for this page. The web page, though, contains the same information verbatim. Was the info pilfered from Wiki by an ABC fanatic, or did someone take the info from the ABC page and create the Wiki page? Inquiring minds want to know.Jihadcola (talk) 16:11, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The ABC demonstrations at the NEC are probably featured in this article which has been referenced in the article now. Other references mention the ABC launch at the NEC show. As for content migrating between sites, there is a certain amount of copy-pasting in various articles, mostly from various sites which can be informative but which might also be perpetuating inaccurate information, so I have sought to track down information from reliable sources including news articles, reviews, Acorn's own literature, and so on.
