Streaming availability in North America[edit]

Amazon Video has reduced their availability to merely purchasing series 4, or using an Acorn TV subscription or purchasing to view series 7 and on. The rest are no longer available on Amazon Video.

As for Netflix, they carry only starting with series 7 as well. Series one through six have vanished from their library. Kode54 (talk) 23:14, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Production section: Use of 'controversial' without further details[edit]

Under the Production section is the following line:

"Clive Exton adapted seven novels and fourteen short stories for the series, including The ABC Murders and, more controversially, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd,[8] which received mixed reviews from critics."

I have read the archived reference, which does not expand on why it was controversial. It does list a change that was made but does not state how this was received. The separate page for The Murder of Roger Ackroyd merely lists several changes but again does not state how these were received. It's unclear from the line why this adaptation is controversial. I'm not under the impression something receiving mixed reviews makes it controversial in itself. I haven't seen the episode in question, so it's possible the something controversial is a major plot change that author wished to refrain from mentioning, but if that's the case I feel that the word controversial should simply be omitted. As it stands, it could almost read that it was controversial simply because it was Clive Exton adapting it.

After reading through the episode's response, I can't find any source on the episode itself being controversial just the original story being controversial. Untitled[edit]

You can’t say The Lemesurier Inheritance was partly adapted for TV just because a luggage label said ‘Lemesurier’ on it! It was entirely unadapted and not filmed by Suchet. Additionally, 8 short stories from Labours of Hercules were not adapted. Four of the 12 were covered in the adaptation. The article gives the misleading impression that all 12 were adapted; but such things as ‘including a dog’ in the adaption does surely not count as the adaptation of an entire short story about a dog?
