Merge?[edit]

If aktiebolag is a synonym to corporation, then maybe the articles should be merged? If not, then maybe the definitions of aktiebolag vs. corporation should be elaborated more on. / Habj 01:01, 19 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Before you do that, there are articles:

Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung (GmbH; limited liability company)
Public limited company (the corresponding concept in the UK and in Ireland)
S. A. (the corresponding concept in France, Spain and other Romanic countries)
Naamloze Vennootschap (the corresponding concept in the Netherlands)
Aktiengesellschaft
Osakeyhtiö (the corresponding concept in Finland)

The point of this article is to explain what "Ab" stands for in corporate names, which is, I guess, how you arrived here.

Let's not forget; these articles could well be expanded to include, amongst others, the history of the concept of corporate business in their respective countries, given time and some knowledgable editors.--TVPR 13:40, 13 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Swedisk term AB is not literally a translation of the Noerwegian A/S, or vice versa. AB litarally means "stock company" and A/S "stock group"
