Birth place/date[edit]

When and where was he born? Badagnani 20:58, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There's a chance that I might see Alan within a few months as he has vague plans to come to the Netherlands. When so, I'll try and ask him :-) Didgeweb 12:10, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Today (February 24) I heard the terrible news that Alan passed away, just before sunrise, at St Vincents Hospital Sydney, after having suffered a cerebral hemorage. Didgeweb (talk) 14:20, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

A nice piece of trivia (not sure if it fits on the main page). When Alan appears in the Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, the background didgeridoo music is not played by Alan Dargin, but by Charlie McMahon. In fact, you hear also part of Charlie's Pig Wobble in one of the scenes. Didgeweb 03:54, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Death[edit]

What is the source that Alan Dargin has died, as has just been added? It is in no online newspaper that can be located. Badagnani (talk) 05:02, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed it till there's a source. Corvus cornixtalk 05:04, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea. I was too trusting. Badagnani (talk) 05:05, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I got an email from Charlie McMahon. Indeed no newspaper source found yet, however Charlie is a rather reliable source to me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Didgeweb (talkcontribs) 07:28, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I put in his death date. Alan was a dear friend, I spoke to him at the hospital shortly before surgery and found out the next day- before it hit the news. S. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.176.66.111 (talk) 12:43, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My sincerest condolences. Please forward them to his friends and relatives. Roland, Didgeweb (talk) 12:48, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Photo[edit]

Will this one do? Together with Mark Atkins, taken in 2003 http://www.didgeweb.com/cgi-bin/show_image.pl?photobook/sfinks2003/dscn1336.jpg Didgeweb (talk) 10:47, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, but which is which (or whom is whom)? What is the red wood the didges are made from? Also, can we figure out which species was his bloodwood? Bloodwood gives several, and doesn't mention that any of them are extinct. Badagnani (talk) 10:50, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alan is the person on the right. I can make a cut-out. Have to figure out how to upload it again. The didges are not his, but come from an Amsterdam shop. Didgeweb (talk) 10:53, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You can upload right over the old one; just click the button to say you really want to do this, when it asks. Badagnani (talk) 10:54, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
which old one? I uploaded this one on the right
Didgeweb (talk) 10:57, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removed the Photo Requested template. Didgeweb (talk) 04:29, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Heritage[edit]

Can we add what his Aboriginal affiliation was (i.e. language group, region from which his ancestors came)? Badagnani (talk) 10:51, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NT or NSW[edit]

The article puts him in the category People from the Northern Territory but doesn't say from whence in that province he came; it only says he lived in NSW. Can we get more specifics about this (eventually)? Badagnani (talk) 10:52, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
