Intro[edit]

This article could use an introduction, in case the reader doesn't know what "Hulk" refers to. Also define the scope: print? movies? tv? or all three?

Can do us a favour, characters such The Thing,Wolverine or Spider-Man or anyone else who wasn't really Hulk's enemy but rather marvel characters who has dipsute with Hulk by fighting him a lot of time..they shouldn't count as enemies but rather as rival or opponent..can anyone seperate those characters in a different section in this page ? 60.48.109.126 07:13, 8 August 2007 (UTC) m.m.m[reply]

That's why I added the "and opponents" tag. Namor, Thing, Thor and such aren't exactly enemies, just sparring-partners. Wolverine on the other hand, definitely is. He's gladly tried to murder Hulk multiple times, but that's still kept ambivalent on the page itself. Spider-Man has tussled with/tried to stay out of the way of the Hulk a couple of times, but not had recurrent, tough slugfests. We'd have to list lots of other characters like Iron Man, Wonder Man, Captain America etc, if we included him, so I tried to stick to the 'archetypes'/the guys the Hulk is most clearly associated with/'iconically supposed to slug it out with'. Hercules and Iron Man might be in the 'maybe' zone though. Dave 16:43, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
nice one though ;) how about The Illumnati, the recent Hulk's storyline does proves so factual and it doesnt revert to any other cause for Hulk not to define them as not enemies ?
I'm not sure. Doctor Strange has traditionally mostly been one of his best friends, although the grey Hulk held a small grudge about the crossroads dimension, but sure, a collective entry seems ok. Dave 16:24, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Abomationvshulk.png[edit]

Image:Abomationvshulk.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Section Split[edit]

Do you think we should split the bad guys from the good guys? Rtkat3 (talk) 3:19, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Merge[edit]

Overall, none of these seem to have any real potential to really expand to GA quality or anything else. It would be best to merge them until such a time. TTN (talk) 21:31, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also, if any of them aren't actually primary Hulk villains, they can be placed into another appropriate list. TTN (talk) 21:32, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Utilizing such a broad and sweeping proposal fails to provide a foundation for meaningful collaboration. But as stands, I would not agree to such a merge as character of Wendigo and Hulkbusters are established characters with an strong and growing history. -Sharp962 (talk) 23:29, 20 July 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Some thoughts looking through the grouping... and it's substantially the same as what I posted to the "Cosmic entities merge"... Potential problems:

  • Lists, especially those that tend towards long-ish like this one does, tend to be forced down to 2-3 line Lead like blurbs about the items. Some of the proposed articles are close to that as is, but the bulk aren't. There's a good chunk of material that will get flushed from those.
  • Lists also frown on images, regardless of if they could be valid inclusions. Most of the topics on this list have a visual representation that is hard to get across in text, more so with limited text. And there is no way it would be accepted to have scores of images attached to this list.
  • "Let them go to the Marvel Database or Marvel Universe" is a bit short sighted. Especially when what the merges would do is reduce the information given here and no direct pointer to where more information is available. And again, loading scores of those into a List is frowned upon.
  • Other articles point to those in this grouping, generally for additional information. Having them point to a specific line in a list (which would need an anchor added) does not provide that.
  • Pulling the articles here will create problems with those that either cover more than 1 topic or cover a topic that is no just "a Hulk character".

Agree 100%. (JoeLoeb (talk) 02:04, 21 July 2009 (UTC))[reply]

How do you propose merging them. I would expect a list entry to contain relevant information, particularly first appearance and creators. I think this list should be better established in such a format before any merge is considered. Once such a format is established, I wouldn't be opposed to such a merge for most, if not all of the articles proposed. Wendigo may be able to support an article if reliable sources can be found. • Comment while we probably do need to merge a number of minor characters I think it is unwise merging to specific lists like this. This problem has come up before and we have discussed this. I am still of the opinion we should have a "List of minor Marvel Comics characters" (and a DC equivalent) and have been making a list: User:Emperor/Sandbox/Minor characters, Hiding has also be working on one. So I don't think we should merge here but we should revisit them topic with a more general article. (Emperor (talk) 02:35, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: Let those pages stay. Some of them have major "Other Media" sections to them like Zzzax and Wendigo. Rtkat3 (talk) 5:00, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
  • Keep: I agree, too much content from many pages would be lost in a total Merge. Since this has been here since July, I will be bold and remove the Merge tag from Tyrannus (comics). --Xero (talk) 07:39, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
