Link to german page[edit]

The plant is in the german wikipedia as de:Turmkraut, but I don't know how to work in wikidata. Ralf Muschall (talk) 15:55, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Ralf Muschall I'm not 100% sure, but I think it will link when/if the page is moved to Turritis glabra because of the way Turmkraut is linked to Wikidata using that species name. Edit: Und, auch "Hallo". Ich kann ein wenig Deutsch lesen. 🌿MtBotany (talk) 06:29, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Possible move to Turritis[edit]

I noticed that this species and two others are classified in the genus Turritis by Plants of the World Online(1) and World Flora Online(2). In addition NatureServe now uses this as the correct species name as Turritis glabra. Is there any compelling reason not to move it? @E Wusk I made the request for the move and edited the page with a (very basic) description of the taxonomic disagreement in a new Taxonomy section. I'm not sure I got it all correct so I'm going to have to do some research to see what papers I can find. Surprisingly fun one to research as I'm learning interesting things about some botanists in addition to finally realizing what that plant that comes up in my garden is. I think it is the tendency towards having alkaline soils that make it moderately common here in Colorado. It is also fairly common other western US states. 🌿MtBotany (talk) 17:09, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
