Winter[edit]

When was winter of 1942? The beginning of the year? The end? Some might even interpret it as the middle. The month would be better, if we know it. Reach Out to the Truth 16:45, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Significance given only to more modern publications[edit]

There is a problem with article. It mentions "volume 1" and talks about significant issues. Problem is, these issues only go back to '94 when the comic is much, much older than that.
If the comic has been around since the 40s and lasted so long, surely it cannot be that the most significant issues started in the early 90s.
I realize it cannot list and discuss every issue, but come on. There's no way this list is complete. That's 428 issues and over 50 years worth of development, yet this article doesn't even talk about issue #1, which is arguably the most significant of them all. Overall, I feel like there's a lot missing in this article. Like why/how did Archie become popular? What did people say about the comic? Who was reading it? Why were they reading it (or what where they reading it for)? Were there a lot of pop-cultural references to it in the early days? Were there a lot of pop-cultural references to it in the 90s? Are there still a lot of pop-cultural references to it?
Perhaps, its simply an organizational issue where it needs a small mention of the period this comic existed in and such and just link to that. Either way, it feels woefully neglected.
EDIT: I just realized there is a separate article called [Archie Comics] despite the fact that the first 6 words of the header for this article are "Archie (also known as Archie Comics)". I'm not going to bother analysing this comic any more or reading the Archie Comics article in full (I stopped caring...), but I will say the Archie Comics article appears to have more information. This confusion needs to be cleared up and made concrete.
EDIT 2: When was issue #114 even released? Why are we regarding them as the same comic despite the title change? "Starting with issue #114, the title was shortened to simply Archie". Article just doesn't seem right. Repku (talk) 19:12, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The section is not reliably sourced and I've found no preference for it in other articles, so I'm not opposed to removing it from the article.
Regarding your second point, the articles are about different topics. Archie Comics is about the publisher. This article is about the comic book initially titled Archie Comics. Just as Marvel Comics shares its name with a comic titled Marvel Comics.
When "Comics" was dropped from the title, I don't think there was a difference beyond the title change. So unlike Flash Comics relaunching as The Flash in the Silver Age with a brand-new star, we treat them as the same publication for convenience. Incorrect tense?[edit]

The article states "Archie (also known as Archie Comics) is an ongoing comic book series" (present tense) implying it still publishes new issues. Yet the article is divided into sections on Volume 1 and Volume 2, with no Volume 3 mentioned, and Volume 2 is said to have finished in 2019. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.208.199.7 (talk) 22:22, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
