[edit]I've made a start on this. There is much more to put in. I didn't start the War of Independence section, which would be quite large if the words of an IRA recruiter in Kerry at the time- to the effect that he wouldn't bother going looking for men anywhere in Kerry where there were no mountains- are to be believed. And then we have Seán Ó Briain, the school teacher from Baile an Fheirtéaraigh who was Brendan Behan's mentor and teacher of Irish during their times in prison for IRA activity. Also, I will have to consult An Seabhac (Pádraig Ó Siochfhradha)'s book for more about the area. El Gringo 02:46, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
Spanish Armada in Ireland
[edit]I've posted this article in the last week or so, and put some comment on your talk page. I wonder if you could post a non-copyright-vio photo there of the view from the Dingle peninsula down to the Great Blasket (showing the gap to an Carraig Fhada). I was only at the spot once, and all I could see was fog!--shtove 23:42, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
Monument at Dún an Óir
[edit]Hello. About the monument at Dún an Óir, when was it built? To judge by the style of it, sometime in the 20th century. Whose idea was it, and who was the sculptor? Thanks for any info. 206.168.224.66 21:02, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Clíodhna Cussen designed it. She is the wife of the writer Pádraig Ó Snodaigh and the mother of both Rónán Ó Snodaigh of Kíla and Aengus Ó Snodaigh, the Sinn Féin TD. Don't know any more than that. Hope that helps. 86.42.97.195 18:32, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Cleanup-gallery (Aug 2016)
[edit]This template ("This section contains an unencyclopedic or excessive gallery of images") reads a little savagely in the context of four pix in a start-class article. (I suspect readers / contributors over the years since it was posted have found it puzzling.) To me there's nowt wrong with the number of pictures - but the captions could do with displaying a lot better. Can anyone fix?
I think the pix might then seem more plainly relevant . Maybe the tag could then be removed! (unless the pix do in fact need moving to where they tie in more tightly to the text).
