Not the largest grebe

[edit]

Great Grebe (Podiceps major) and the two species of the Aechmophorus genus are bigger. Anshelm '77 21:25, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Uncertain date of description

[edit]

Ludlow Griscom's expedition to Guatemala, which led to his published description of the species, took place in June-July 1930. Therefore it's unlikely that he published in 1929. I don't have a reference for the paper in which he published the description.Dgorsline (talk) 16:57, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The holotype was collected in 1926 by Alfred Webster Anthony. The description was in 1929
